Kids and teenagers face pressures that look different from what adults navigate — but carry the same weight. School, social dynamics, identity, family stress, digital life, and the general disorientation of growing up can all take a real toll.
Therapy with young people requires a different kind of presence. It needs to be honest, age-appropriate, and genuinely interested in the kid's experience — not just the parent's concern. That's what I bring to this work.

Working With Families
Parent involvement matters. Depending on the age of your child, I'll work with you to understand how to support the work happening in sessions — without undermining the therapeutic relationship your child needs to develop trust.
An Office Kids Actually Want to Visit
Therapy happens at my office in the historic Bowman Field terminal — airplanes outside the window, warm light, and Jack, a border collie who has helped more nervous first-timers settle in than any technique I know. Families come from the Highlands, St. Matthews, Middletown, J-town, and across Louisville; telehealth is available for teens anywhere in Kentucky.
How Much Does Child Therapy Cost in Louisville?
Child and adolescent sessions are $225 for 50 minutes. I don't bill insurance directly — I provide superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and a sliding scale is available on request. The first step is always a free parent intake call — book a time online, ask questions, and make sure I'm the right fit before your child ever walks in.
Common Questions From Parents
How do we get started?
The first step is a parent intake call — a conversation with you, before I meet your child, to understand what's going on, your concerns, and whether I'm the right fit. From there we'll plan how to introduce therapy to your child.
Will you tell me what my child talks about in session?
Kids and teens open up when they trust the room is theirs. I keep parents meaningfully informed about progress, themes, and how to help at home — while protecting the privacy your child needs to do real work. Anything involving safety is always shared with you. We'll go over exactly how this works during the parent intake.
Do you offer telehealth for teens?
Yes — telehealth is available for adolescents across Kentucky and often works well for busy teens. Younger children generally do better in person at the Bowman Field office.
Is there really a dog at the office?
Yes — Jack, a border collie, is a fixture of the office. For many kids, he's the reason the first visit feels less scary. He occasionally brings his tennis ball to sessions uninvited.
